Day 1: Welcome to Luang Prabang!

Touch down in the enchanting city of Luang Prabang, where history and spirituality blend seamlessly. After a warm welcome by our English-speaking guide, we'll be whisked away to our hotel. Unwind and explore at your leisure. In the evening, gather for a delightful welcome dinner at a local restaurant, setting the tone for the cultural adventure ahead.

Day 2: Monks, Rice Fields, and Temples

Rise early to join the serene alms-giving ceremony, a daily ritual where monks receive offerings from the locals. After breakfast at the hotel, we'll head to Living Land Farm for a hands-on experience in traditional rice farming. Discover the intricacies of bamboo weaving, tool making, and blacksmithing. Savor a delicious Laotian lunch on the farm before touring Luang Prabang's oldest temples, Wat Sene and Wat Xieng Thong, and the National Museum at the Royal Palace. End the day with a traditional Baci ceremony and a captivating Laos dance performance.

Day 3: River Adventures and Waterfalls

Today, embark on a boat trip along the Mekong River to the mystical Pak Ou Caves, home to thousands of Buddha statues. Visit a local whisky village and try your hand at making Saa paper. After lunch, journey to the stunning Kuang Si Waterfall. Enjoy a leisurely hike or take a refreshing dip in the cool waters. In the evening, explore the vibrant Night Market, where local artisans showcase their handcrafted textiles.

 

Day 4: Onward to Hanoi

Enjoy a relaxed morning before your afternoon flight to Hanoi. Arrive in Vietnam's bustling capital, where your guide will escort you to your hotel. The rest of the evening is yours to explore or unwind.

Day 5: Hanoi’s Rich Heritage and Flavours

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner 

Delve into Hanoi's history with visits to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, One-Pillar Pagoda, and the Temple of Literature. In the afternoon, explore Tran Quoc Pagoda, the Ethnology Museum, and Hoan Kiem Lake. As night falls, embark on a foodie adventure on vintage Vespas. Weave through Hanoi's narrow streets, sampling local delicacies and soaking in the vibrant atmosphere, culminating in a jazz-filled night at a local club.

 

Day 6: Cruising the Ha Long Bay

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner 

Set sail from Tuan Chau Marina aboard the luxurious Peony Cruises. Enjoy a sumptuous lunch as you cruise through the stunning Lan Ha Bay. Kayak around Tra Bau's serene waters, join a cooking demonstration, and witness a breathtaking sunset. Cap off the evening with a delightful dinner and a night of relaxation on the top deck.

 

Day 7: From Lan Ha Bay to Hue

Meals: Breakfast, Brunch 

Start the day with Tai Chi on deck before exploring the impressive Trung Trang cave on Cat Ba Island. After brunch, disembark and catch your flight to Hue. Arrive in the imperial city, where you'll have the evening to relax and explore.

Day 8: Exploring Hue’s Imperial Legacy

Meals: Breakfast 

Cruise along the Huong River to visit the Thien Mu Pagoda, then explore the Imperial City and Forbidden City. Discover the royal tombs of the Nguyen Dynasty, including Tu Duc Tomb and Khai Dinh Tomb. Return to your hotel with a deeper appreciation of Hue's regal past.

Day 9: Scenic Drive to Hoi An

Meals: Breakfast 

Drive from Hue to Hoi An, stopping at the scenic Lap An Lagoon and Marble Mountains. After arriving in Hoi An, check in to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.

Day 10: Cycling through Tra Nhieu Village

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch 

Embark on a cycling adventure through Tra Nhieu Village. Visit local craft families, explore a fishing village, and enjoy a basket boat ride. Savour a homemade lunch at a local host's home before returning to your hotel.

Day 11: Hoi An to Siem Reap

Meals: Breakfast 

Take a morning walking tour of Hoi An's ancient quarter, visiting Chinese Assembly Halls, old houses, and the iconic Japanese Bridge. After lunch, fly to Siem Reap, Cambodia, the gateway to the magnificent temples of Angkor.

Day 12: Temple Trekking by Tuk Tuk

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch 

Hop on a tuk-tuk for an early morning visit to the enchanting Ta Prohm Temple. Continue to Angkor Thom, exploring its majestic gates, Bayon Temple, and more. After lunch, visit the awe-inspiring Angkor Wat and marvel at its grandeur until sunset.

Day 13: Culinary and Countryside Adventures

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner 

Start the day with a private cooking class, learning to prepare authentic Cambodian dishes. After lunch, venture into the countryside to experience traditional village life. Engage in activities like rice noodle making and sugar palm crafting, then enjoy a tranquil sunset at a rice field. End the day with a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.

 

Day 14: Farewell, Siem Reap

Meals: Breakfast

Savour your last breakfast in Siem Reap. Enjoy some free time before your transfer to the airport for your departure flight. Safe travels and see you on your next Grit & Grace Adventure!
